Partners

Seun Oshunkoya

– Principal Partner (Lagos, Johannesburg)

Seun began his professional career with Dewey Ballantine LLP in 1996 upon graduation from King’s College, London with an LL.B. (Hons) in 1995. He worked in Chapter 11 Corporate Bankruptcy and Reorganization, focusing on utilities and the energy sector.

Following an opportunity to facilitate the market entry of US-based telecommunications company, Worldwide Talk Communications Ltd into Nigeria in 2001, Seun has spent the last 20 years in Nigeria as an investor, advisor, capital raiser and market entry facilitator for Foreign Direct Investors across many sectors in Nigeria and other African markets.

He founded Westwood Investment Consultancy Services Ltd in 2008 and is a Director and Shareholder of Westwood Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos. He spent 5 years as Nigeria Country Head for MN Capital Africa Advisors, a South Africa-based financial advisory firm, before joining YI Partners Ltd, a Singapore-based advisory firm with an Asia into Africa thesis in 2017.

Matthew Nash

– Partner (London, Johannesburg)

Matthew spent over 20 years working for a number of top tier Private Banks, including HSBC and Standard Chartered, advising HNW families and actively involved in property lending, property development, investment advice, foreign exchange, cross border investment, trusts and offshore structures with a particular emphasis on Southern Africa where he travelled regularly. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Services and Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.

Dele Adesina

– Partner (Lagos, Accra, London)

Dele Adesina is an experienced wealth advisor, financier and investor. He is an alumni of Dulwich College and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He qualified as a Chartered Wealth Manager through the UK’s Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Dele is a Partner at Westwood helping facilitate corporate advisory, capital raising and market entry across Africa.

He is also founder of Hekima International Private Office www.hekimainternational.com. and is a Partner of Cornerstone Partners LLP, the UK’s first Angel Investment network for investing and empowering UK businesses owned by diverse founders. Prior to this, Dele’s career includes long periods at each of Coutts & Co, Royal Bank of Canada Private Bank, and Standard Chartered Private Bank London (spanning 2004 to 2020). Throughout his career, he has facilitated corporate transactions, real estate development projects and connected capital with opportunity.

Associate Partners

Richard is a finance professional and is an Associate Partner with Westwood. He also currently heads the Financial Inclusion unit in Nigeria for Letshego, an African multinational organization, headquartered and publicly listed in Botswana with a focus on delivering inclusive finance solutions to underserved populations across Southern, East and West Africa. He is a member of the Country Management team for Letshego Microfinance Bank, and is responsible for driving strategy for portfolio growth and development of business opportunities for the organization.

Richard is passionate about agricultural/renewable energy and climate finance, financial inclusion and impact financing to people that are excluded from the formal financial sector. He has over 14 years of proven management, business development and strategic experience working with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Development Finance Institutions (DFI). He has managed several financial services and business development teams in Sub-Saharan Africa ranging from retail banking, SME relational management, credit risk management, sales and micro-finance. He is also proficient in leading large micro-finance operations, strategy, and M&A transactions.

Richard is a fellow of the Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies program at Harvard Business School, Agribusiness Management Programme from the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, a certified expert of Renewable Energy and Climate Finance from Frankfurt School of Business, and holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management. He is a Member, Chartered Institute of Loan, Risk and Management of Nigeria and also holds a Micro-Finance Certification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He has attended several trainings on Credit Assessment and Financial Appraisal, Credit Risk Management and Portfolio Development amongst others.
